I have a beautiful bachelor flock of salmon Faverolles (and a few odd balls
) I got 3 boys together and few months ago and oddly there was fighting between two of the 3 I got but separated the bully for a day and they worked it out. A few weeks later the lady I got the 3 from says āI have another if youāre interested so I say ok sure. Itās always stressful adding birds but the breed is docile and Iām sure they will work out out. 2 weeks later my new boy Alexander the Great is still on the outs. All the others free range together, he will be near them but now Iāve seen my frizzle Polish and the half bantam salmon that I raised running him off. I watched them all go to the coop at night and heās always the last one in. But he does sleep in the coop at night. If I knew exactly who to pinpoint and separate, I might possibly do that but itās so cold right now. I hate to leave when alone in this weather. I feel so bad for him because heās not aggressive and he wants to be safe with the flock. My only other option is possibly rehoming him, but I donāt wanna do it too soon. If this is typical pecking order and sometimes it just lasts a little bit longer. When I go outside to throw them treats and mealworms, he always comes running at me and he will eat in the area where theyāre all eating.I think he knows that heās safe with me there.
I will yell the other ones and shoo away when they start chasing him. Any advice, anyone dealt with this and get through it. To be clear I initially they had a few little sparing matches but now just chasing. Any advice? Thanks
