If I put 4 male silkies in a pen adjacent to my main coop will they be ok( get along without fighting)? Or do they have to be completely out of view of any hens?

Thank you! I’m going to give it a try and if I need to adjust the plan I will, sounds like only time will tell......fingers crossed it works!Answer: It depends.
Most people that have bachelor coops ( Well, most people that have stated they have them on here that I’ve seen anyways, so take it with a pinch of salt) keep their rooster coop out of sight of the main coop. If roosters see a lady, they will fight over her. If they don’t see a lady, they don’t fight over a lady. Simple as that. They will still fight over pecking order, food, etc., but not as much as roosters that can see hens will.
Some people do perfectly fine with them right next to the girls. I don’t know how accurate that is in reality, but from what they have said (very few people use this setup) it works perfectly fine.
It depends on your roosters, it depends on your whole entire flock, it depends on the age of the birds, it depends on your luck, and it goes on. I would just choose what you think would work the best in your situation. That could be only separating them by a wall of chicken wire, it could be separating them by an acre. I would just do what works best for you, and what is best for your flock.
