Bachelor pen design

I currently have a 16x16 run. I am in the process of adding a new 12x16 run. I am thinking about splitting it down the middle so I could split the flock into 3 different groups. If I wanted one of the new 6x12 runs to be a bachelor pad, how much do I need to separate the two (6x12) runs?
Each run would have access to my coop.
just welded wire and chicken wire? Or I need to use some of my pile of roofing metal to separate?

Wire is fine...it's less confining to the birds that way and more air flow.
