Hello I have recently purchased a dozen Rhode island red chicks and was look around on the interweb for a site just like this with a knowledge of chickens. I have been reading some of the posts and it has already been a great source for me to draw from. As a child growing up with farms on all sides of my parents house it was only natural for us to raise our own chickens for eggs. After I was 6 due to my faters declining health we stopped raising them and the flock was given up. This is the first time I have started my own flock and built my own coop and cant wait for those little cluckes to start laying.
