Back of chickens head torn open

I hope so. There's a big hole on the back if her head and neck, and I can see the muscles on the back of her neck.
I understand your concern. It is a horrid looking wound. Let me find something that may make you feel encouraged and a little better about the situation.

I'm on my way to get some blucote and a big tube of neosporin. I'm going to put her in a pet carrier for now so she can rest and get some Gatorade of her. Besides giving her some electrolytes, what else can I do to treat her shock?

Electrolytes with a little bit of sugar to give her a boost is the most helpful, but also keeping her warm. Somewhere darker and quiet so she isn’t overly stimulated and can just sit and try to recover.

Also blu kote isn’t recommended for a wound that size as it can be drying. You can get it but I wouldn’t start applying it until you put her back with her flock. It is a useful tool to have on hand for smaller wounds and to hide blood.

What can I use on it instead?

Is her brain exposed or is it skull or tissue? I can’t tell from the picture. If she has brain exposed, I’m sorry but I don’t think I would try to treat if she were mine. I can’t recommend anything for that kind of wound care, either. I would euthanize. If just muscle and bone, however, I would continue to try.
