Back of chickens head torn open

Is her brain exposed or is it skull or tissue? I can’t tell from the picture. If she has brain exposed, I’m sorry but I don’t think I would try to treat if she were mine. I can’t recommend anything for that kind of wound care, either. I would euthanize. If just muscle and bone, however, I would continue to try.
No, her brain isn't exposed. Just tissue. I can't tell if the skull is exposed, but it mostly looks like the skin was just torn open.

I got some vetericyn, and I'm going to pick up some extra neosporin and Gatorade for her. I'm gonna put her in an animal carrier so she can get some rest in a nice quite place.

She seems to be feeling much better now. She's alert, eating, and even coming out of the carrier to walk around.

That’s amazing! I think other people have said this, but when you put her out with the other chickens, you might want to try to out some Blu-Kote on the wound to try to prevent the other hens from pecking it. I hope she feels 100% soon!

Aw hey that’s wonderful! Keep up with wound care and watch that she is eating and drinking enough. She will probably have quite a few week of healing until she can return to the flock. You’re doing great!

Edit to add, if you can, she may benefit from short, supervised visits near the flock once she has healed more and you think she is up to it. Sometimes seeing friends can have a positive impact on healing and behavior in general. But do watch out for fly strike if you choose to take her out at any point.

She pecked at her food a little bit, but she still doesn't seem to be very interested in eating. She's hardly touched it. She'll come out of the carrier to explore and get a drink, but it doesn't seem like she's touched her food. It's still pretty much at the same level as when I filled it up. What can I do to get her to eat more?

Assuming it’s just pellets of some sort, wet it down into a mash, a lot of chickens like that. Add in a raw egg or canned chicken for extra protein. She’ll get some hydration that way, too. Try that and see if it helps get her interested.

I gave her crumbles. Should I try stuffing it in her beak yet, or wait to see if she'll peck at it with the added ingredients?
