Going to pick up today 4 hens and one roo, does anybody have experience with these brids? Are they moody gathering eggs? Are they good layers?
these will be our first bantams, we have RiR hens and a big dominque roo will get along well
in same coop? I do have backup laying cages

Old English are active birds that can fly pretty well for a chicken. Mine can fly straight up to their 7 foot high roost. They go broody more than the average hen I think. Their behavior with people depends more on how much the were handled by their previous owners.

It is hard to say how the roosters will get along. You may want to divide the chicken run so that they can see but not touch at first. It might be a good idea to put up some roosts in the chicken run for them that are a little higher.

It is usually suggested that you keep new birds separate in different accommodations for a month to make sure they don't have any communicable diseases that can could be passed to the existing flock.
