About 10 years ago I sold my free range flock because we moved from Wyoming to upstate New York. I have missed having chickens every day. But, I am assuming that having backyard birds is a little different than having a huge flock that free ranged on 40 acres of prairie. In that respect, I am here to learn.
I have 8 chicks on order and expect them to arrive the end of February. They are all Easter Eggers. I wanted Salmon Favorolles, but for some reason, decided against it.
Really looking forward to having birds again. I love the calming effect they can have, the routine of gathering eggs, feeding, watering, and yes, even cleaning up after them.
They will fit right in to my other outdoor spring - fall hobby of gardening. During the winter they will keep me from becoming a couch potato.
Really glad to be getting birds again.
