Hello Folks, I be a brand new member here. I've recently retired and am in the process of building a coop and run for a few birds that will be free ranging most afternoons. Having been raised on a farm I am not really new to chickens and such. I live in the country and have also had a flock or two myself from time to time. However, work has dictated that I let them go from time to time.
I just recieved 27 straight run chicks from Murray Mcmurray and am officially "in the business" again. I also have a few bantams that are totally free ranging that I plan on finding homes for soon.
The chicks I ordered are a mixed lot of dual purpose breeds that I plan on culling to just a couple of breeds. I also am planning on another coop just for bantams but haven't decided yet what breed I want to go with.
Anyways, I will try to get caught up and take a few pics of my coop and run as well as a couple of bantams I have that I know are a specific breed but haven't with any certanty identified yet.
Well, cool, glad to be registered.
