So while I was in vacation last week my wife called me and told me that something had torn heads of a few of my pullets. One of those pullets was a Cornish cross that was very active and not overly big which is why I chose to bred her to a red Broiler that I have.
Out of the three bullets that I have only need to astral orbs will make a decent cross for me. My question is what would be a better option?

I was thinking some cornish hen from a breeder or maybe some Buckeye hen if I could find any. if anyone is near Mansfield or the Dallas-Fort Worth area and has some hens for sale that would make a good cross with my red Broiler feel free to please let me know

I am currently crossing my Dorking Roo over a Red Ranger. So far only hatched out one and he is a week old. Slightly bigger than the other chicks in the brooder but not the growth rate I had from the Red Rangers.
