"Backing up"

I've got a Black Star hen, about 1.5 years old. Been healthy and laid eggs until recently. She molted and looks healthy. Eats, roosts, forages.

She started a strange behavior of backing up. Almost looks like a stalking behavior.

I read about wry neck but don't think that's an issue.

Thoughts are appreciated.

Walking backward or in circles is sometimes part of the neurological symptoms of wry neck. If you could upload a video to YouTube or Vimeo with a link here, that might be helpful. Neurological symptoms can be from a disease, a head injury, or a vitamin E deficiency. Treatment with vitamin E 400 IU, a small portion of scrambled egg for selenium, and 1/4 tablet of B complex daily can be a good treatment.
