Backwards chick? Day 20 help!

Hi, so it is day 20, and all eggs are pipped and doing good, but one egg is not even internally pipped yet. I peeled the the shell over the air cell, and the chick is still alive, but malpositioned. I don’t know what else to do to help it, because it’s membrane is still very bloody.

you opened it like that before it had even internally pipped?

er... I would mist with warm water and cover the shell quickly (get a big piece of shell + vaseline) to stop it from drying out further. it is in a sac of veins and yolk and if they dry out before absorbing, the chick has no chance at all.

Update: it died
I eggtopsied it because the heartbeat stopped after I moistened the membrane and I think it drowned itself trying to pip the other way because it was really malpositioned
