Backyard Brahmas!!

Perfect. My guess was three pullets and a cockerel. I'm used to bantams so they seem huge! At six weeks they are the same size as a two year old hen I have lol. Thanks again

haha
This is my 4 1/2 month old Light Brahma Rooster, he is standing next to a block that is 8" tall with a waterer that is 11" tall on top of it. He will keep growing for awhile yet.....

He is FANTASTIC! I am looking forward to my girls getting their full size on.
He is pretty impressive even if I do say so myself. Also so far I am loving his crowing habits, The first day he figured out he could crow he walked around doing it nonstop for a few days, then the next day there was one crow before he came out of the coop, for the past few days it has been no crowing whatsoever.

Oh that's cute! I wonder if he's trying to work out what his next achievement will be . . . Maybe the egg laying intrigues him? :p Maybe he's just content being a pretty boy.

This might be a silly question, but how long do brahmas grow? Taller and broader, bigger. I've have 10 week olds, I'm curious how much bigger they will get.

Hi sroy there's a sweet picture of a rooster just a few posts back from yours, he's standing beside something 19 inches high. Roosters can get to 2 foot tall, hens maybe 18 inches, roosters can weigh over 12 pounds, hens 9. Big ol' birds :)

Thanks, I know they get pretty darn big. I got mine from a hatchery and wondering how long they grow

Well they say full maturity is 2 years old but just like a puppy gains most of the growth in the first 6 mos and just adds a bit more size and mostly girth after that I am counting on the same thing with the rooster. So far at 4 1/2 mos old he is a full 4 inches taller than my largest hen that is a huge Buff Orpington. He only weighs as much as her though (almost 8 lbs) So I would bet now he will just start putting on weight mostly. He is already so big that getting up on on something a foot off the ground takes some effort for him. He thinks about it for a very long time.
