Backyard Brahmas!!

Sometimes, giving them fresh eggs once a week will help. My cocks are crowing all day long, my neighbor loves it, he'll even keep an eye on them when I'm out of town just to make sure the housesitter is taking good care of them. But, I give them fresh eggs, I introduce them to my chickens, I show him around and talk to him about my projects. Maybe that would help, maybe not.
I tried to talk to her...show her the animals...but I think it's too late to make nice now that her son threatened me & i called the police..i don't think they'll let it go....

Probably best to just keep to yourself and hope better situation presents itself. People don't adjust to change well. By the sounds of it you have a menagerie of pets and it might just be a lot for them to process. What is a few chickens to you is a huge mess to them. If animals aren't your cup of tea it can be hard to take I'm stride. Good luck!

My neighbor is this sweet little 90+ year old lady. She always says she can't hear my roosters...which I always thought was true based on her age. Then, her daughter decided to raise three chickens and my neighbor named one after me! I think she secretly has a soft spot for chickens. Lucky me to have a great neighbor that I get along well with - and now a chicken namesake.

Just lost our home in GA, had to move in w/ fam in FL...asked family to make sure it was ok that we bring our critters (chickens) & all the neighbors said it was fine..WELL...got here..all chickens safe & sound which is a miracle in itself...now the neighbor next to us is griping about the chickens..saying they are keeping her up, blah blah..we live RIGHT next to a major road..there is NO way the roosters are making as much noise as that road..anyway, she's called the Hume Society, Code Enforcement, Fish & Game, etc...of course there's no law against chickens or roosters here, so I'm in the clear with that..have my permits for my exotics, etc...so on & so fourth...BUT she's still being sooo nasty...her son starting yelling at me saying he was going to beat my a--. IDk what to do..I'm afraid to leave my chickens alone, afraid i'll come home & find them killed..I called the police & got a no trespass on her son..but I don't know what else to do..anyone else have this problem?? It's making me sick to think something might happen to my guys or I might have to get rid of them for some stupid reason...I don't think she's going to stop...sorry, just had to vent....
It is okay to vent. You are in the right forum for all chicken talk. My heart goes out to you. I wish I had an extra house out here. You could be my neighbor. We do not have any neighbors that we can see. I live a half of a mile away from a hwy and hear it over my chicken that are not far from the house. Plus as long as there is not light chickens make no noise at night.

I am sorry that you have to go through this.

Can I trade you neighbors??????
I have a young uppity couple that moved in next door and don't EVER want to hear a dog bark. (there are like 50 within earshot)

They should move to an HOA neighborhood and be the KING AND QUEEN.

Thank you for your kind words...I think you'd be an awesome neighbor! :)

Has anyone ever used those rooster collar things that are supposed to curve the crowing? I've read good & bad reviews on them. I don't want to be a bad neighbor, but I don't want my guys to get hurt either. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

I had one on my polish, no matter how tight i had it, he was still the same loudness, and I had to pick it up and put it back on him every couple of days. It eventually got lost in the mud after a rain, still hiding in there somewhere, it got buried. Was a waste of money for me.
