So, any pointers for a newbie? Like, what is the best material for the clean-out/floor under the girls? What about material on the floor? Linoleum? An easy slide out/clean out works best for a non-walk in coop? We are thinking about a walk-in run, with a non-walk-in coop. We do have hawks in the area, saw 2 raised by their mom and dad last summer. (The rabbit population suffered lol.)
I've found out not to have the roost above the food/water. I would like to have an atuomatic door this summer, is it that hard to do? We'd like to add electricity, we've seen some coop/tractors with a cord hanging. I am looking to next fall/winter. We don't want to spend a lot of $$$ initially, probably about $300. Any pointers are gladly welcome!
