(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I don't really recall when we began, but it was an interesting beginning. For now I'll just say I'm glad our local chicken supplier has a policy of trading roosters for hens when you live in the city.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 2, but we had 3. One killed herself accidentally. She was gagging on what we thought was gapeworm, but she jumped up really quickly, breaking her neck on the top of the coop. Sad day. She was such a gorgeous Americauna! At the time, I also had a Crested Cream Legbar and a Golden Sexlink. Still have the Sexlink, but the legbar turned out to be a male. So we traded him on a different Americauna. What a beautiful bird that one was! A gorgeous chicken. Who crowed. And chased our hen. Traded him in too. Had we not been in the city, he'd have been perfect to keep! So pretty! Pea comb! But now we have the new Americauna hen and the Golden Sexlink. Planning for 2 Morans in a few weeks.

(3) What breeds do you have? Oops, answered above. Lol

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Searching about gapeworm last year. So sad.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Too many to list. Looking for a hobby farm. Plan to raise goats and chickens, a couple pigs, and our dogs and children.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Our 2 dogs are rescues. Schnauzer terrier mixes (not sure which terrier exactly). 8 kids, some at home, some not. And a desire for self-sustainability!!!!

My gosh! I can totally tell I will waste a TON of time on this site!!! I have been reading about @KikisGirls balut eggs. I began today with chicken farts! My phone battery died during the balut eggs adventure (I'm at work) and I'm charging while attempting to find the thread again. My kind of peeps, pardon the pun! ;)
