Hello, new here to everything! looking for a recomendation on what hens are best for our colorado weather? I am in denver and our family thought that we should start with 4 hens.Can you name a couple that would give us a great start?

Easter Eggers, Australorps, Orpingtons, Rocks, Wyandottes and Rhode Island Reds would all be good choices.
 
I ended up getting 7 chicks. Now looking foward to building a coop for all of them. Does anyone have a simple design or link to a great Chicken coop that is low cost!

Probably one of the easiest coops is to start with a shed and modify it (finding a used shed will keep your costs down). Other members have re-purposed play sets or swing sets into coops. Pallets are another inexpensive material to create a coop with.
