Just got myself into gear and registered. I live in New Zealand and have recently downsized from 6 acres to a 1 acre block. I started keeping chickens around 40 years ago when I moved out to a rural area. I have had to reduce my flock and get rid of my ducks, geese, guinea fowl and pheasants as well as some of my chicken breeds. Because of restrictions of space I now keep only heritage English breeds.
Breeds I have include: Orpington, Sussex, Dorking, Old English Game and an experimental double laced breed as yet unnamed.
I am looking forward to reading about your experiences with your 'backyard chickens'.

I now have some Cornish to add to the collection.
