Bacterial infection question

one of our silkies came down with a bacterial infection, and while he seems to be getting better, i was told that chickens who have had bacterial infections cannot be put back with the rest of the flock because their more susceptible to catching diseases. is this true?

He should be fine as long as the rest of the flock is healthy. While some chickens may have suppressed immune systems, they occasionally just catch an illness. If you put him back with the flock and he gets sick again, you may consider separating him.

I'll probably keep him separated for a few weeks after he gets better so i can make sure he's getting plenty to eat, and to watch for complications.
