Bad broke leg.

I had one of my pullets brake her leg yesterday. It was realy bad. I tryed to splent it but could not get anything to work. The skin was broke and bone was poking out. She was doing good when I found her. Yall may think I am crazy but I did some work on her and she is doing good today. I had to cut off part of her leg and bandge it up. She is moving around on her good leg and is eating and drinking good. Now do you think I did the right thing or did I try to hard?

Thanks that makes me feel better for doing what I did. She is still doing fine as of tonight.

She's probably in some pain - you could dissolve an aspirin in her drinking water.. or if you have baby aspirin, you could give her 1/2 of one every 4-6 hours. Be sure to keep the wound clean and I would spray it daily with Blukote. I'll bet she's going to be fine!
