Just sending out a head up to fellow duck owners that home remodies can’t always fix everything. These infections can easily kill your bird! I’m using manuka honey and clavamox to get it out of the bone. The clavamox isn’t legal to use on pet birds but some vets may have a way of getting it for you.

Hi there!!! Sorry I'm late. Yes I have been dealing with BF in turbo Labor Day weekend. I have been to the vet so many times I can't even keep count. Miss turbo has had 3 different BF and each time they heal and things are looking up Bam! She gets another one. This time the BF shot out like a rocket, my vet let me watch this time. I have her in my garage now and do nightly soaks with epsom salt then wrap her foot with manuka honey.

Now my male duck has had a surface bumblefoot on his pad for a long time but since turbos BF has became more important and the cold winter. I have stopped doing soaks. But now the weather is getting above freezing I have started soaks and honey again. That honey has done a world healing on my ducks!

I hope your duck has a speedy recovery!

My Pekin is the same way. We’ve been to the vet three times now. I think she’s just prone to it. I do the same this with manuka honey. Maybe once summer comes and it’s more dry it will get better

I feel my turbo is prone to this too, I have only had surface BF with my other ones. Meaning nothing deep rooted like turbos. It's frustrating because I'm playing by all the rules yet my outcome keeps going to worse case scenario.
