I received some shipped Welsummers and Barnevelder eggs at the start of the month and all seemed well except one egg was "wet" when I unwrapped it. None of the others seemed to have this issue. I choose not to set that egg just in case something wasn't right with it.

The eggs have been in the incubator now for 14 days and one of them is now weird! It has tiny hard drops all over it, almost like smooth crystals. It is hard to explain so here is a photo:

Keep in mind I can't really see into these dark eggs. I pulled 5 of them so far as they had very large displaced air sacks that seemed huge. I cracked each of those eggs and all of them where scrambled and didn't show signs of being fertile. I can't tell with this weird egg though and would hate to pull it just one week from hatch without some advice on it. It doesn't seem to smell!

Oh -- sorry, I misunderstood, probably didn't read carefully enough. I have no idea what that is. I've never used an incubator, though, so I'm useless in this topic.

I would carefully remove and discard that egg. Seepage from the inside like that could indicate bacterial contamination and with that comes the possibility of the egg exploding in the incubator. That is a mess you don't want to have to deal with!
