Bad egg?

So i have a broody hen who was sitting on 3 eggs that are on day 23, but the past 2 days she didnt really sit on them. She would just hover over them and the eggs got very cold. Today i threw out 2 eggs, id candle them and i just couldnt see anything. When i cracked them open it looked like one had pipped from the inside but hit a vien and died, the other was still in the membrane and the membrane looked very thick and the chick wasnt moving. I was in tears looking at these two deaths that i couldnt get myself to toss out the 3 egg. I candled this last egg and i can see the viens and they dont look bad, but the air bubble is pretty big mayne an inch or two. Idk what to do. These eggs had been smelling for the past week.

One thing all fowl owners agree on- REMOVE any smelling eggs immediately from any nest or carton.

it's most likely bad if the mom is starting to give up I think she would know if the eggs are bad...

My chicken started laying with 8 eggs and throughout the course of the gestation period she had tossed a few out until 5 were left. There was a time when she had not sat on them for 2 days. This was towards the end of the gestation period and I was beginning to worry. The eggs were cold and they had ants all over them. They did start to smell. I waited and she began to sit on them again. The eggs were a few days past their hatch date and only one hatched. My advice is that if she's off them and it's past the hatch date I would remove the last egg if it smells. Seems like it won't hatch. Good luck with any future hatches!
