Bad egg!

Hi Everyone,

I really do not know where to post the question so I will just put it there. If it is in the wrong
spot I do sincerely apologize.

Here is my situation. This morning for breakfast I had one of my girls eggs like I often do.
The egg looked fine and smelled fine, but when I tasted it, it has a off taste, almost like
a fruity taste similar to lemons.

I only took a few bites then threw it away.

My question is, has anyone had this experience before? Did you get sick?

I had a few cartons of eggs in the fridge that have been there a while, so out of precaution I pitched them all.

I am not sure if the egg was old, spoiled, or just bad.

I know a rotten egg when I smell one but this one was not rotten just tasted strange.

I've never had that happen. But I know of cases where odors and flavors from the animal eating certain things can be passed into milk. I'm wondering if the same can happen to eggs?

That is true, I had forgotten about that aspect. Hopefully that is the case.
