I have one muscovy egg on day 32 under broody hen ... I candled it and it has lots of black blotches on the interior of the shell. It also seemed a little "watery" for so late in process and I think I smell a faint odor . It's bad isnt it? (I want to be in denial !!!!! )

How do I know for sure the egg is bad?

Muscovy eggs take 35 days, I have seen some hatch that looked black thru the shell and still hatched. If you can hear it sloshing inside then I would say yes it's bad. Do you have alot of other eggs in with it? if it's just one egg under one duck and you aren't sure I would let it ride for a couple more days and see what happens

Sometimes if I'm not sure about an egg that is late in incubation, I put it in a bowl of warm water and watch it float. If it wiggles around, it's alive. If not... well, it's probably dead.
