I live in central AZ and have a few dozen layers. Highs have been in the mid 80s to 90s with lows in the 60s to 70s. Recently we have had a few rotten eggs and can't figure out why. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

How often are you gathering eggs? Once a day, twice a day????? With that kind of heat you should probably look for eggs several times a day for sure. That's about all I can think of.

That might be it…need to increase the frequency of collection.
When we float test the eggs, some of them have a tiny stream of bubbles coming from them. Is that ok or not?

Gosh, I never float-test mine...they get brushed off as needed (I never "wash" my eggs!) slap 'em in the frig, and then use. Yes, with the extreme heat you get down there I'd be checking for eggs, say, 8am (for early layers), and then about every 2 hours after that...also check the Learning Center here at BYC...a wealth of information!
