I only had 5 hatch out of 29 eggs. I don't have a hygrometer but the bator had water. We opened 3 eggs and they all looked like the insides were on the outside. Fully formed but poor things didn't make it. Any idea what i did wrong. I am a newbie.

Newbie here too, what I've read it could be a number of things. Experience is the best teacher, hopefully you can pinpoint it so it won't happen next time. Don't let it get you down!

I think more information is needed to help

what type of incubator
what temps did you run
how many days were they in
how were the eggs stored prior to incubation
what method did you use for turning them while they were incubating

Quote:
are they all at the same stage of developement?
what was the humidity % during incubation? during lockdown?
some made it, so whatever went wrong, was not way off..
how long did you collect the eggs before they were set?

sounds like a temp spike , would be my first guess..

My bator is a little giant. Temp steady at 99.5. No hygrometer. Turned by hand. Next time I will have the hygrometer. I just feel so bad for the little things. Hope next hatch will turn out better.

Were they shipped? Was the bator ever 'left open'? Is this the first time this incubator has ever been used or has it been used before?
