bad laying habit

No, it's not the curtains, I just put those up yesterday. They all are on the roost when I walk in at night, I have plenty of space there. I don't know which one is doing it, so I don't know if she doesn't like the boxes or what...mabey they're just not homey enough and she'll like the curtains

I'm just afraid that the others will start eating this run egg (because they're pecking at everything in the run) and get a taste for eggs in general- then I'll have a big problem! Otherwise, no it's not a big problem to have her lay there because I do have to go into the run to change the water everyday anyhow.
Thanks for all the quick replies and ideas-I really appreciate it!!

I had a Welsummer this spring that laid in the run every time she laid. It went on for MONTHS, and she's now finally laying in the coop.

When there are others laying, typically they "learn" from each other where to lay. I never could figure out what the deal was for that one Wellie, but she's finally laying in the coop, so I'm happy!

I never had a problem with anyone eating the eggs this one laid in the run; I just made sure they all had plenty of protein, and they never seemed to feel the need to peck at her egg. My run is fairly good sized (15 x 40); not sure how big yours is. I think the key is to make sure they have plenty to do in the run.
