Alas, nothing ever goes my way. Only one week after the rooster going to his new home… the lady messaged me saying he had an eye infection and it was swollen shut and that I needed to come get him. Apparently she isn’t going to treat it.
The problem is that i cant bring him back. That was the whole reason I rehomed him. Why do I have the Worst luck?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, what a terrible thing to have happen.

If you do decide to go get him, keep him away from your existing flock. I understand culling is not probably something you wish to do or consider but it should be.
He may have picked up infection from the Lady's flock and you risk bringing it into your own existing flock.

Yes. Some diseases can be contracted and symptoms show up in less than a week.

That's too bad, if you don't want to go through the process of culling him, is there a local wildlife rescue or bird rehab you can turn him over to?
I can’t go get him. I rehomed him for a reason, because I had 2 roosters and only 6 hens.

I guess I just feel bad he was fine here at my home and then 1 week after rehoming he’s got an eye infection and she isn’t going to treat.

I don’t know. She just messaged me saying I should come get him because of it.
OK So she's not wanting him, nor wanting to treat him.

Did she keep him quarantined away from her flock?

I'm sure there's so many things running through your mind right now. How stressful is all of this!

If she insists, then it may be better to go get him if possible, but personally, I'd cull when I got home. I know that sounds awful and yes, it would be a very difficult thing to do.
