Bad outbreak of red mite in chicks coops

It's going to take him time to recover from the mite infestation.
Yes.... he's doing better this evening, and trying to pick a fight with the other cockerels round here. He's still a bit unsteady on his feet, wobbles a bit... but more himself.

Why don't I ever see mites on the chicks when I check them or powder them? Where should I look on the chicks, I try heads, necks, under wings, vent areas? Never seen any on them, only in the coop

That is great that he is up and around.

Have a look at where they are scratching themselves with their beak, mites are tiny and camouflage well plus there are a lot of hiding spots in and around feathers so it will take a really good look to find them.

He completely perked up and 3 days later there was no sign of his wobblyness or weakness! His poo was always normal and he mecer list hos appetite. None of the other 8 chicks were at all ill. I'm inclined to think he came off worse for wear following a fight with his brother but I'll never really know what it was.
