I have a 16 to 18 week old black giant rooster who is a major pain 2 our hens. when the girls try 2 eat he runs them off when he pecks or bites the hens he pulls tons of feathers out. he was 1 out of 3 roosters that i had before getting rid of the other 2. He was the one getting his butt kicked all the time and now that they have bean gone for 2 weeks he has turned into the bulley. i will let him out of the run just so the girls can eat and when they r eating he gets loud and trys to re enter the run its like he's mad that they r eating. if anyone has sugestions please tell me.

Almost sounds like the rooster from hell....sorry to say.

IMO a good rooster will 1. protect and care for the hens as well as breed them....and 2. breed them gently.

Sometimes I worry about my guy who will catch the grass hopper and keep dropping it, or any other treat...until the hens get it. He really is giving -- and he is not at all hard on the hens.

If it were me, I would get a different rooster. The qualities you are describing may be inheritable, from what I have heard/read.
