Bah! Doctors... -grumbles-

Must not have been my problem. When I was having the blackout feeling, I was still young and my mom only allowed us to have candy or soda on Saturdays, instead of all the time.
Now I rarely have those type of feelings, if ever, and I practically live on Dr Pepper

Bread, rice, potatoes or anything high in starch can cause it too. Starch converts to sugar in the body.

Get a CT scan....blurred vision, blackouts...get a CT scan just to make sure nothing funky is going on.

If when you stand up suddenly you get dizzy/faint try to have some water close by to drink before standing. Sometimes the minor dehydration can cause this.

Best wishes...take care of yourself, be proactive.

I have had these same problems and I have low blood sugar and low blood pressure and the doctors don't always think of things being to low just to high took years for someone to figure it out, and it was an older doctor who finally looking at my chart realized that I actually had high blood pressure while pregnant with my son even if it was within the normal range for me it was high and causing problems. so look up the symptoms of low blood sugar and low blood pressure if they match bring the info to the doctor have him look at it. hope you get some answers..

I agree with HorseJody.
It's not just eating sugar, it's eating things that have just starch and no protein...... For example I have to have eggs every morning for breakfast. (thus, the crazy chicken addiction) If I just have say, pancakes or something I'll get an attack for sure in a couple of hours... always have to choose whole grains too they stick with me longer.....and sugar on a empty stomach will practically kill me...... also I have to eat small meals all day long to keep the blood sugar up. (Oh, I am a lifelong vegetarian too and also tend toward lowish blood pressure all my life) Are you thin?

Thanks everyone for your support in this. Makes it less frustrating. I'm going back to get more blood tests today. One of my roommates' dad is a cardiologist and I mentioned this to him and he asked if the doctor measured my blood pressure when I stood up, like to see if my blood pressure drops suddenly when I get up because maybe that could be it. I might ask the doctor to do that. I feel weird suggesting things I think it might be (like pointing out that it might be blood sugar since I tend to feel worse if I've not eaten in a while or I eat too much sugar, or asking about the blood pressure thing) because it seems like he'd know this since he's trained and I'm not. At the same time, it would obviously be bad to just stay unhealthy because I didn't want to annoy him. Oh well, hopefully something will get figured out soon. Maybe if these tests don't do anything I'll mention his earlier suggestion of a CT scan to see if he still wants to do that but has forgotten or if he just doesn't think that's necessary.

It's the student health centre at my university so it's really busy and I think they're trying to move through us quickly, so then I wonder if maybe that's affecting how well he's thinking about it all. Like I looked up the tests I'm supposed to be doing this time, out of curiosity, and one of them mentioned that I shouldn't eat for several hours before taking it. He never even mentioned that to me or anything, so it sort of makes me think he's not hugely focused on this. But I can understand that since there are so many people to be trying to process. Oh well, hopefully we figure out the answer soon.

Thanks again to everyone who responded.

Hope all goes well.

I would get a CT scan of the brain, to make sure you don't have a tumor of some sort.

My father had a tumor, and his symptoms sound somewhat similar to yours. He was misdiagnosed for 7 years with vertigo.

Good luck

I'd thought one of the hormone ones said to do that, but when I looked them up again, I couldn't find any mention of that so...maybe I made it up? I dunno.

On the bright side, a test finally came back showing something wrong with me. If it is polycystic ovary syndrome as I am now suspecting, that apparently has a high correlation with insulin resistance. So that could cause blood sugar swing-y ness and maybe that'd cause the vision blacking out and dizziness and so on. Or maybe it's totally unrelated... My androgen levels are abnormally high and apparently I "can't afford to ignore" that, but he wasn't sure whether or not it was related to the vision/dizziness/nausea thing.

Still, nice to finally be making some sort of testing progress.

It sounds like your BP drops when you stand up as others have suggested.

Try standing up slowly.

You also might want to try those attractive compression socks. I had to wear those when I was pregnant.
