Bait for Mink - GOT HIM!

That out of the way, what bait is effective for catching a mink?

Mink are hidious killers, sorry you have to deal with them. Fortunately they are brave enough to stare you down while you shoot them.

Tuna, whatever is stinky. Sardines! That's a good one. Stinky is your friend when baiting a trap.

Mink went right by the stinky tuna cat food in the live trap straight to the nest box to feast on eggs. We caught Amazon the Speckled Sussex in the live trap.

try putting some broken eggs or a couple eggs in a dish in the trap.

It always surprising how small a creature can be such a fierce predator.

Got him with a chicken drumstick.

Now we are re-baited to see if it was a family.

This guy simply wasn't all that afraid of people either.
