Several of my hens have developed a bald patch in front of their tails on their backs. A few have the same thing around their vents. I was told it could be mites or lice and to use DE. I spread it in their litter and made a dust box filled with it. The problem is spreading.

Any ideas?

A couiple of my Hens also have this problem. I was wondering if it might be mites. Where do you get De?

I do not have any bald spots on mine but if they do have lice or mites the entire coop will have to be cleaned. I don't know if the DE will do the trick to get rid of an infestation. I also have a thread I just started in here about this very subject. Hope you get some answers. Maybe post some photos. Are you sure they are not molting?
