I am not really sure where this thread goes, and I'm certain its been addressed before, but....The Roo has been picking favs in the flock, and 2 of my girls are loosing feathers on their backs. they don't have any sores, but I'd like to do something to prevent that. I wondered about the hen saver things, or at least making something to protect them from his advances. Its funny they are free range and the 2 in question sleep on either side of Tom, the roo, and if he wanders away with a different lady they have panic attacks. Chickens are nuts! They call and fuss and carry on until he comes back and escorts them on their forage trips across the yard. I also wondered about duct tape, will it work, it works on every thing else

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I keep a couple of hen saddles (hen savers) handy in case one of my roos gives an individual hen a bit too much attention. Works well, once the hen adjusts to wearing it. I find the double strap ones work better than the single strap.

Thanks! Do happen to know where I could get one, or at least a pattern so I could make my own. If I had a decent pic, I think I could make one, and save myself some money! Thanks!
