The Bald Eagle thing is where we have no control over is right. Being a protected bird of prey I imagine there are a lot more who lost out to the eagle as well. Just 2 days ago while doing yard work one of my roen ducks was coming ashore and just got onto the gravel section of the pond and swoosh bald eagle from a couple of miles down the road scooped him up and took him away.
I have lost several birds over the years to this same eagle and I have to bear the loss.. Sure I would love to shoot it...but. If you are around the eagle won't be so bold but if your not he knows where his or her feed source is. I have to bite the bullet and let mother nature take its course.
Even when I have a hen or roo die I will drive the carcass to the nesting area and let the eagle deal with the corpse. Keeps it away for a short time then you see him overhead again down the road. Yes, frustrating...grrrr Steve
