Our hens are slowly losing all their head and neck feathers due to our two roosters grabbing that area while mounting them. We have full size hens and two bantam Silkie Roos. They were all supposed to be hens, but in the meantime became beloved pets, so doing away with the Roos isn't an option. I know about chicken saddles, but the injuries are to the head, back of the neck area, their backs are fine. My daughter suggested tying the roosters wings down si they can't mount, but I think they would still grab on with their beaks. Any ideas of how we could give the hens a break, humanely?

make the roos a bachelor pad and put pick no more on the area and they may not like the taste or whatever so they don't grab on that area
