My Pekin has had this spot since her white feathers started coming in. It’s not really bald, it just seems like he still has baby feathers in that one spot. Is this problematic? It’s not bothering me if it doesn’t bother him. It doesn’t seem to be, but this guy also has issues with his legs so just trying to make sure it’s not some kind of deficiency or disease. He gets plenty of niacin now but not sure about his first couple weeks at TSC.

what a pretty baby! I don’t think it’s a problem. That area is covered by wings isn’t it and it doesn’t look sickly just part the fluff and look at the skin to see if it’s red or inflamed, but from what I can see in the pictures, he looks just fine so handsome

Thank you!!

on second thought, to be safe, check his preen/oil gland. has he been using it? they can get infected or impacted , this is helpful ... (scroll dwn to oil gland ) http://www.majesticwaterfowl.org/mmissue71.htm
Wow, I had no idea that was back there. Definitely thought the oil came from their eyes. (Don’t judge me 🤦🏻‍♀️)
I will be checking that first thing tomorrow! Thank you sooo much

He’s using it! And it’s oily back there! Could the yellow just be from the amount of oil back there?
