10 mos old Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet has bald spot above tail. Approx. the size of a quarter. Dry, clean, smooth and trying to grow feathers in that area for 4 months but nothing really happens. Is this normal?
She is not being pecked that I see and if she was wouldn't it be irritated?

Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

Do you have a rooster? Could it be from his maiting efforts and she being his favorite?
The bald spot will be bald till moult, but if she has started popping in pin feathers, and they keep disapearing, there's probably a picker. Try blue kote, hot pick, vasaline, pine tar, vicks vapor rub, or duct tape over it to see if you can't get picking to stop or for feathers to grow back!
