Bald spot or something more?

Hi everyone! Sorry I feel like I’m posting a lot 😬 but I was checking my chicks over tonight and noticed this bald patch/raised area on my lavender Orpington chick (Sweet Pea). She is one week old today. I wonder if this is a spot where she has been pecked by her sisters, a patch where she is beginning to lose down, or if this is something more concerning such as a tumor or growth? Not a great picture but you can see it’s lost a lot of down and it is slightly raised and shiny. It is right above her wing joint, below where her neck meets her body on the right side. I will add that this chick appears to be at the bottom of the pecking order so far.

Any advice and insight are appreciated!

Given ad lib feed, chicks generally have a full crop, and it can cause a protruding bald appearing patch to the right of the neck. That is very well what might be going on with the chick.

Thank you for the reply! They have food available 24/7 and this is just as you describe, right side of the neck. That makes me feel a lot better. We have had a lot of losses with this batch of chicks so I’m a little overprotective!
