Bald spots on "alpha" hen

We just noticed this large balding spot on our top hen (black sexlink) that goes from her upper breast all the way down between her legs. Our chickens are only 9 months old so I didn't think it was molting. (also because it's bare, not just a "grow new feathers" kind of thing.)
I'd assume it was pecking from other chickens but she's "in charge" and I haven't noticed much aggression against her.
Our buff orpington is the only one who has ever gone broody and she just got done - every month, ugh! - but I haven't noticed anyone else being broody.
They're all still laying eggs like champs and we think this balding bird just laid two in one day!
They have lots of room and have been roosting outside at night on top of the chainlink dog run we use as their closed run, which is under a huge maple tree (we don't have issues with predators, thankfully!) so they're not too crowded at night.
I haven't had the opportunity to inspect every bird yet. There's only 5 but we've been crazy busy and just noticed this.
I asked my friend who is my go-to gal for all things chicken and she had no idea. So BYC is my next line of attach! :)

(my 10 year old was taking the photos, sorry if you can't see much! but you can see how thin her feathers are in the 2nd photo)
