One of my pairs hatched out their first babies four days ago. They are both growing quickly and seem vigorous and healthy. How ever one of them has almost no yellow fluff on it. I have a fair bit of experience with baby pigeons and I have never seen anything like it. It's sibling looks totally normal. Has any one had this happen before or have any theories? the picture of them is from yesterday. Thanks for your time

Lazy Gardener mentioned having the same thing happen to a chick about a year ago. Something to do with lying in the shell wrong, chick was born with no feathers on the back and side. The feathers started to grow in shortly after and the chick grew up to be a normal, beautifully feathered adult.

You might want to PM her about it, if it can happen to chickens it can probably happen to baby pigeons too!

One of mine was bald too! He's all feathered normally now. He had less fluff before this pic was taken. I thought he would only grow down feathers in until he got pin feathers!
