Balding Chick???

so I have a 5 week old white crested polish bantam chick and he appears to be in a way balding? I think he is a corkle but not 100% yet. He appears to have little black specks on his head where the feathers are missing and he has been quiet. I have been watching it for about a week and it is seeming to get worse. Any Ideas? Thanks!

Is the chick a lone bird? Crested birds are common targets of picking if there are other birds with this one.

Is it with other chicks? Polish tend to be a target with their "hats" = Ol Grey Mare
Those "black" specks, do they move? Can you check closer, are you able to remove the "specks" ... Thinking possible lice?

He is currently living in a coop with 34 other chicks, all are the same age. I with watch carefully to see if he’s getting pecked at.

They don’t appear to be moving. It’s almost like the feather shriveled up and that’s what’s left of it.

Check those black spots too, if it moves it's lice. If you can remove them, do so as the other chicks probably pecking at it.
