Balding Rear End

I have a BR hen that I noticed yesterday her rear end under her tail feathers is bald. All of the other hens have nice fluffy downy feathers there. Should I be concerned??

Sounds like someone is feather plucking, once a chicken sees pink skin they will keep attacking her.. You can buy antipecking spray that you can spray on her bum.. I dont know if it is that but it might help.. Im sure a more experianced person will help you.. Good luck Tracy...

Could be lice, or it could be just molting. Can you post a picture?

Some birds lose feathers due to fecal scalding of their skin. Does she have poop that sticks to her feathers? I had a wyandotte that always had a poop covered bottom that lost feathers if I didn't clean it off regularly.
