Julie, one of your babies is an early bird! They're not due to hatch until tomorrow, but one black chick has made a huge pip in the side of the shell and is making some racket!

I've been really worried if these were going to make it, since they took such a beating during shipping. The five to make it this far had some pretty beat up air cells. I'm just hoping they survive to hatch!

Three of the 5 eggs were dead. I did the tap test, and no response, so I broke them open. The yolk wasn't fully absorbed, and they look like they had been dead at least a day. The other two are very much alive. The one egg is still peeping, but hasn't gone any farther.

I've had the wait till the very end and lost some. It's always a bummer. Incubating can be soooooo stressful, good thing I'm not a chicken heh...lol.

Good luck, hope you pop another cone head today.

I got up this morning, and I have a little frizzle cochin staring back at me through the window!

The other Silkie and one frizzle egg has also pipped. That just leaves my white silkie's egg and one frizzle left. Hopefully, they won't take all day to do this, since they seem to be a little ahead of scheule.
