Ban of Poultry Sales...is this true?

I recently read that it's just PUBLIC sales, and that PRIVATE sales are fine? Anyone else heard this?

Did you go to the state's Department of Agriculture website? They spell it out very clearly, what is allowed and what is not. I honestly don't see why you wouldn't go there first.

Chicks I would trust would be out of commercial hatcheries that closely monitor health of flock already. Sales by other parties and even backyard not watched by poultry health folks making such potentially more risky.

I tried going to my state agriculture site, but couldn't find ANYTHING about it :-/ I guess I'll call them and see what they say
