Bantam and LF (Mr. Speckles) Jubilee projects

Cyn, you're not kidding. I never get tired of looking at him. He's such a sweetie too! The girls were nervous coming out with snow on the ground again, but they ventured out to see what was happening. He walked right out and came over to say hello.

What are your goals for this flock? Is that how you make the Jubilee Orpingtons?

Yes, I am working on bantam and large fowl jubilee orps. I have a couple options on what genes to match up to work on the project, but I'm giving it a go with these guys for now to see how things go.

Once, again, you've posted some gorgeous eye candy for us, Jody! I can't wait to see how your project progresses. I've wanted Jubilee Orps since I saw some on one of the UK sites 3 years ago. Make sure you post pics as you go!!!!!

Wait so those are bantams in those pics? That sure is a nice rooster, I dont think I have ever seen bantam sussex.
Are you going to use the same cross for both bantam and large?

The first 5 pics are of the bantam hens I am using for the bantam project.

The speckled sussex is large fowl and so are his hens.

I am doing several matings for the projects. The speckled to black is one. I will also be doing speckled to mottled and mottled to mottled in the spring. We are working on jubilee and mottled orps in both sizes.

Those black bantams are very elegant looking and refined. It does say GIRL all around!
