personally i am not an expert but i had 2 roos in my group of 36 and i didn't know until about 3 months. i figured it out when i walked by the coop and heard him crow, sure enough, big comb and saddle feathers.

When do they start to grow saddle feathers? I've read that they are the 'giveaway' signs (aside from the crowing). I live in suburbia and council won't let me have roos so I'm hoping that I will be able to sex them definitively before that happens.

Thanks for the comments.

I'll try to take a few more pics to see if it helps. I don't see any pointy feathers (saddle) but it could be early yet? Do the pointy hackle ones come out first?

Thanks for the opinions.
