Bantam Bin ID Help

Thank you so much for your patience and your help. I adore these babies, no matter what their breeds or genders. But having an idea of what they are is nice.
I got some bantams from TSC as well, chipmunk like your #3. They appear to be OEGBs. A farmer I know said her husband used to raise OEGB, and if they grow black feathers on their breasts they're male, but the ones with salmon/fawn feathers are females. I appear to have a 3/3 run.

Orange band is male, blue band female.

Have fun!

They're gorgeous! Thank you for the information. I think the breed is so pretty, in all their various colors. Your birds are beautiful!

Thank you. They're 5 weeks old. My Dominique broody sat 4 weeks. The eggs never hatched, so I bought these chicks for her, as a reward. She's been a great momma.

Aww I just love that!! My "first" chicks will be here in September, lol. I ordered then from Meyer (4 BBS Orpingtons, 3 females and a male), but then these guys/girls stole my heart when we went to buy dog food.

I can't wait to try and hatch out chicks with broody moms, or in an incubator further down. Or even do like you have, let one get to be a mama in this way. It warms my heart!

I knew I would enjoy chickens, and I've wanted them for at least 5 years. But the amount of joy I've gotten from this group since Saturday amazes even me.

And your Dominique is so beautiful! I haven't seen them for sale where I live, but i do love them.

I ordered four sexed chicks from Cackle a couple years ago. I still have two, love their calm demeanor and their soft "honk" sounds.

Dominiques and Speckled Sussex
I may end up ordering some when we expand our flock. Speckled Sussex are another favorite of mine. It's so easy to see how chicken math gets folks. There are so many breeds to love!

Exactly. I will keep the three OEGB pullets, but since my birds need to be confined due to predators, the cockerels will go to auction.

We have our fair share of predators as well. Luckily, we've got a decent amount of property, and we will be fencing in a large area. Part of it will be fully enclosed on the top as well. I'm hoping to keep predators at bay that way.

Watch out, hatching is addictive! Once you start hatching your own, you'll be tempted to just keep setting eggs to hatch more! I hatched a few batches at first, now I rarely don't have at least one incubator running. It's just so much fun, ended up being my favorite part of chickening. And broodies are just fascinating to watch with their babies, there's something so special about it and I much prefer to just give my broodies a couple chicks instead of trying to break them of their broodiness- I'm happy, they're happy. And if I don't want to keep their chicks permanently, I find them new homes after the broody weans them and isn't as interested in mothering anymore.
