Bantam chick breeds

I was looking for d'Uccles at mine, but none were there. I picked up one that I thought could be a Millie, color wise, but it just doesn't look dainty. I'm thinking it may be a buff Brahma bantam. If so, my daughter will be happy.
Last year we got Millie's, porcelains, silver laced Cochins gold, silver, and a buff laced sebright. -all at TSC
I think I lucked out. I was sad over all the losses we suffered so I told the guy to pick the best ones. He definitely did!

Cackle Hatchery is one of them. I think Feather Lover Farm and Alchemist Farm both sell them but their prices are more than the typical Hatchery. Feather Lover has both A and B weight classes. They also have a chick maximum and charge approximately $30+ each.
Cackle is "out of stock for the 2020 season" I'm thinking they will be discontinued if they arent even hatching any, or had an issue with their breeding stock.

I'm not expecting any seramas, but my daughter was certainly excited hearing that our chick might be one from the TSC employee. I believe the chick is going to be a Black Tail White Japanese, which I absolutely adore! I've finally got my daughter excited about this breed possibility. I did find seramas at a Hatchery just while looking around trying to identify my chicks (I don't believe our chick is a serama, Hatchery quality or not), but like with any Hatchery chick, you won't have the quality bird. We love them all just the same. Our birds, even the complete and total jerks, are pets. I must admit that we're getting really close to being ok with not having the jerks around.

Edited to say: Thank you for your time and guidance. I always appreciate the opportunity to learn as there is always going to be an awful lot to learn, especially when the topic grows like the topic of chickens. I really enjoy this new part of our lives and can't imagine not having chickens ever again. The members here are always so kind and helpful with their knowledge and I am truly grateful for each and every member that has helped me, and so many have helped in so many ways. Thank you again. I love BYC and everyone of the members <3
Thanks for the info on the hatcheries. I'm tempted to call cackle and askwhy they won't have any Seramas this year.
I had not seen alchemy but the other one I did see in a search. It's a pretty small Hatchery, so I understand the process, but I just can't pay $39 per chick when they may not make it to my house alive.
Can't stand it-I'm calling cackle. I'm nosy that way :lau

Please reply with whatever you find out. I really want some too. I did just find a Pyncheon and I'm so excited about it!

They said they are working on building their breeding stock up so they can offer them at a later date. She couldn't tell me if they were American or the Malaysian type.
I found someone about an hour and a half from me that we are getting American Seramas from at the end of the month.
We stopped at tractor supply earlier. Another dozen. 🤪 I'm pretty sure we got two Millie Fleur, one porcelain and a hopeful Partridge Cochin. Other than some other Cochins, the rest are mysteries. -but exciting mysteries!

I'm so excited for you! I only got 5 today, but like I mentioned in a previous post, I am super excited about this Pyncheon. I'm not familiar with this breed but I think they're adorable! I really wish I picked up a silver sebright but my daughter was so ready to go and was so tired (an 8year old girl is amazing and the best company, but if they're exhausted, you better watch out. Things can get miserable quickly, hahaha! Of course I am being dramatic). I don't know what other breeds I ended up with today. I'm super jealous that you're getting a serama. Please share your thoughts with me when the time comes.

I will, and I totally get it with 8 year old girls. I have twin daughters. 8 was fun. So was 9 and 10. 11 years old and 6th grade, not my favorite. All they seem to do is argue and bicker. They Never did that before.
